My name is Cordell Bartrum, I want to be a professional motocross racer, and I have an inoperable brain tumor. I was diagnosed when I was just three-years-old. I am now 16, and I want to call attention to this medical condition. My tumor is incurable due to its location. My mom said that she could not believe that in this day and age that doctors would say that there is no cure…..but it is true. It is hard to imagine, but there are some brain tumors that medical science cannot yet cure. I want to show people that it is important to follow your dreams and never stop living life to its fullest.
Cordell Bartrum is a motocross racer from Maryland. He is the proud owner of a 2009 Kawasaki Monster Energy KX250F. Cordell participated in the 2012 Motocross Race Season, which started in March at Buddscreek in Southern Maryland. He runs AMA District 7 and this year, added MAMA races. The race season runs from March through November. Motocross gives Cordell an opportunity to create awareness of pediatric brain tumors and the importance of research, a focus of the Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation.
The home track, Happy Ramblers, is located outside of Hanover, PA. Cordell is a very active member of the track. This past year, Cordell operated the equipment to prep the track. His mom flagged at every Happy Rambler’s race. Cordell’s family was #1 for working at the track. His family is very dedicated to motocross racing.
CBTF provided informational materials to support Cordell in his effort to create awareness. Cordell has a passion to promote awareness and he has an amazingly positive spirit going forward.
